Default Electric Bikes

Ever since riding Fred Bellow‘s new electric bikes three years ago at the Kaibab Lake mini-rally, we’ve been wanting two of them. After watching several YouTube videos, we placed our order for a couple new Lectric Foldable Fat Tire E bikes. They arrived at our campground via FedEx yesterday evening. Only had time to unpack one before it got dark. So it went into a bay and the Fiat is carrying the other one (in its packing box) for our trip to the next CG destination. Needless to say, we’re both excited to try them out and LOVE that their folded size allows them to be stowed in a Bird storage bay. Stay tuned for an evaluation in the next few weeks...

PS - For those that don’t believe a Fiat 500 can carry much, check out the last picture below

A couple months ago we rented two for a weekend. I went from not riding a bike in probably 5 years to going 30 miles over two days. They really are nice and certainly help you go further.

Its hard for us to justify the cost of something we might use once a month. The local Trek store rents them for $150 a week.

Maybe, if you’re a weekender. However since retirement we take longer trips, most of which are to places many miles from a bike shop. Also, ours were $899 each delivered so in only 6 months of renting it would’ve been paid for. Lastly it’s not our choice, but some like Fred B. are substituting them for toads. Do that and you could really justify them!

I've wanted one of these for two years, the Mrs seems a bit scared of them. I did get us both regular bikes, and well I use mine a bit more than she does.

They look like they would be a lot of fun. I don't think the price is all bad either.

899 is a great price! Trek wants 2000 for the basic model.

These take away my reasons for resisting my wife wanting to buy electric bikes: high cost and transporting on a bike rack exposed to the elements and theft. Even the battery is theft resistant. Good find. I may spend $1800 by the end of the day.

We are thinking about ordering 2 also. Sally said Merry Christmas.

Nancy and I have had Rad Rovers for the last 2 years. Not folding, but they ride on a rack behind the Jeep. Really are neat, have put over 600 miles on both of ours even though they are used mostly when we are in Florida. Really wished we had taken them to Alaska, but it would have been impossible to keep them from getting trashed out in the open on the roads we were on.

Ok, we have ordered two of these Lectric XP bikes. I have the idea that the demand for these right now is wayyyy ahead of supply; that seems to be the biggest complaint I've found about them.

Use the coupon code "kevcentral" at checkout to get a $50 set of saddlebags for each bike ordered for no additional cost.
