Default Power Tech 15KW

Has any one replaced their Power Tech 15KW Motor & Blower Assembly and what Part Numbers and source were your findings. Cost $$..etc......

Would it be suggested to replace the whole assembly with motor or just the motor only. I think I have the motor with a winding to ground and need at least a motor replacement. Is Grainger the place to go? Pro & Cons of complete new assembly vs. just motor replacement from any ones experience in the generator problem department.....

Regards

Gregg

Greg why not take your motor to your local electric repair shop and let them fix the motor? Its normally cheaper and faster.

i have replaced several of the fan motors,i buy them from Johnstone supply.
we don't have a graingers here.
the motor is a standard item,is always on the shelf and cost around $100.
we don't have a good electric motor repair shop in my area,so i never considered getting one fixed.
when you take the motor fan off the rad, make sure you clean the fins on the rad.
they do get full of dirt, leaves ,candy wrappers and beer bottles!hahaha!
just kidding, but they do get dirty!

If you have the squirrel cage fan assembly, sometimes the motor shaft is seized into the fan. The fan may have a few metal clips to balance the fan rotation . The fan may get bent or out of shape during disassembly,
Rotation direction, free spinning, and balance is important.

Anybody know if these part #'s work in the later models? Would be good to add them to the list, if they're what I need.

I do not know if the blower & motor is the same, This is the only picture
that I have , it may give you an idea of the size and shape. Th dimensions are listed on the Grainger web site.

You may need to remove the fan assembly and cross reference the original part numbers or call Power Tech.
