First step is to reset the main circuit breakers in the AC load center.
Reset and check the power at the camp ground pedestal.

There is also a double AC circuit breaker between the generator and the
rotary switch, he has to hunt for it, I do not know where it is located on an 88 PT.

Or is there an automatic transfer switch?????

Defective plugs and cord set.

My main breakers are behind the bed, behind the mirror in the a/c panel on the road side. There should be two main breakers. If his coach is like mine there will be a transfer switch below the panel. It is automatic in my coach. Don't know about an 88.

As well, if the breakers are blown in the coach, power would not get in whether a manual or auto transfer switch from the genset or the shore power.
One would think that the main breakers protected the system.

when we went to MS last Aug. The problem we had was hot to neutral short. Tech support (they had a problem with rust) directed me to the manual valve below the copilot seat. Pull the seat, lay some thing down so the base will not stain carpet. remove lid and as much carpeting as needed including the side wall mainly around the chase. Pull the switch.Big sucker down into the wheel well .Mine would work in genset but in 50 amp. The problem was the safeline shorted out.

Not sure exactly what is meant, but others being "shocked" suggests grounding or neutral problems. GFI (ground fault) breakers and receptacles (if present) can be damaged by reverse currents, and lead to dead circuits which may not be easy to find.
