Default Two weeks at Christmas to WANDER

Mauvelous may finally get a chance to stretch her legs. We are looking to go to Colorado for two weeks over Christmas and New Years weeks to ski, explore, wander, get lost, and hopefully not freeze to death doing it.
I need suggestions for great places to go during the winter in Colorado. We have been all over the front range near Denver and want to go somewhere different like Aspen, Telluride, Snow Mass, Durango, etc...
Having an RV Park to hook up is a must for the trip.
We are well aware that many of you would think we are nuts to take a perfectly good Bird into the frozen tundra but if a Foretravel can do it I know the Bird can do it even better! We might even consider New Mexico... I'm open for suggestions!
What/Where would you suggest we go?
Thanks, Adrian

Yelp you're crazy, the Foretravel was plastic and the bird is steel with plenty of cracks & crevices for salt and road chemicals. Good luck, but I would rather go south like Key West, it's cold enough around here don't need to go where they have several feet of snow. My fingers don't like the feel of snow chains

Breckenridge Colordo has a year round RV park. Indoor pool' full hook-ups and the local bus stops by to pick-up skiers for the slopes. Not cheap but certainly a lot less than stick built accomadations. Side trip to Leadville is nice in the toad. We may go there ourselves for a week prior to Christmas and let the kids ski.

Have also been to Quebec City Canada for skiing a few times-one time in the bus-stayed in the parking lot at Mont St Michelle's I don't know of an RV park open during the winter but there may be. They do have a dump station in/near Quebec City-the word for it is "demanger". Side trip up along the St. Lawrence (toad or bus) to a really nice Casino/resort-sorry can't remember the name but it is a beautiful old hotel-scenery was great. Be warned if you take the bus to that hotel there are some pretty significant grades-not long though. Quebec City is only 30 minutes from the slopes and there are lot's of interesting things to do there when you poop out from skiing.

Montreal may be closer-they are suppose to have a nice ski resort and the city is larger-may have an all year round RV park. Love Quebec Canada but the US dollar is pretty par with the Canadian right now and it is a hike. Fill up before hitting the border.

Thanks but I don't think we will make it near Canada :-) I am planning a trip up through Kansas (from Houston) and then left to Denver/Aurora to pick up my skis and clothes at my nephews home and then on up into the mountains probably either to Idaho Springs or possibly Tiger Run in Breck for a week or so of skiing. Then we will head back down and around to Wolf Creek for some more skiing/winter stuff. Then heading out for home through New Mexico and the mountains... I am going to have my tank heaters checked to be sure they are up to snuff and change them out if I need (separate thread soon)...
