Muffler on 8V92

Well, I deleted the muffler on my 8V92 about 2 years ago and currently only have a 10" resonator on the exhaust. Now, I'm thinking about going back. I'm just wondering if the straight flow mufflers even reduce the sound that much?

I know, most of you experienced guys don't hear the difference but while I get to listen to the buzz in my ear all day I can still hear the exhaust. I would like it a bit quieter.

Bruce - The previous owner of our PT38 had the muffler off years ago, intending to put a resonator on. He decided to knock-out the bits of what was left of the interior of the muffler and re-installed it instead. While not designed as such, I guess you could call it straight flow. While driving down the road there is not too much noise. Actually very quiet compared to our previous FC35. However, when walking around outside at high-idle, it sets off the ringing in my ears (yeah, me too). Reminds me of my younger days standing in the hatch of an M113 Armored Personnel Carrier with the Detroit exhaust screaming in my face. I think some day I'll revert to a real muffler, but it's way down to-do list. - Steve
