I have been spending some time in the '82 PT40 at my shop. I am using just the four electric heaters. I can stay warm enough but the floor is VERY cold. I can see there is foam insulation in the walls & I hope in the ceiling but is there any in the floor? My MCI floor was way warmer but it had been insulated during conversion.

The entire bottom of the floor on ours is spray foamed. Every one I've looked under has been foamed. My guess is that yours is also, |

Next time your under the coach...look at the floor area and you should see about 1.5" of spray foam. Typically painted black - on our FC it covers the entire floor of the coach area...to include above large fixed items like the tanks, retarder, fuel tank. My guess is that it is applied during construction.
For cold weather if parked for awhile a common practice is to surround the bottom of the coach to prevent free air access - not really useful if travelling. For those "staying awhile" i've seen thin plywood, styrofoam sheathing, plastic tarp/wrap all used at times.

Under that wood should be steel, and like Ed said, there is foam on the bottom side.

the newer lxis have a layer of cork sandwiched between plywood. the older fcs and pts, just have one layer of plywood over the steel.
