Shane and I met a fellow by the name of Tom at Quartzite he was not part of the SWBB rally. He was camped across highway 95 from us and had a 1980 FC that burned in 1984 and thats when he bought it. He commenced to restoring it way back then. At the time, Tom was a diesel mechanic at LAX. He completely rebuilt this FC and put a 400 hp Cummins in it. very impressive! We invited him up to visit the rally but he never showed. Nice guy, kept to himself and a few friends with SOBs.

Default Engine swap

Can the engine from a pusher be put directly into an FC35?

I know it would require some sheet metal and maybe mount modification but anyone with any opinions whether a 5.9 Cummins from a pusher can be put into a 1984 FC35?

Regards,
Still in Antigua Guatemala

I just moved an old post over here, scroll back to post #1 in this thread for a nice one with pictures, it was found under Wanderlodge Owners Group > For Sale Or Wanted > Craigs List, Ebay, Coaches and other Finds > 1983 FC RB with Cummins which has some other ideas.

Default Engine swap

Someone was telling me that the rotation of a pusher is reverse.

Is this true and will that be a problem?

Not true.

Way back there was a bus built by GM and the detroits in them ran backwards.
But thats not the case with diesel pusher motorhomes.

Im not sure if you already had something lined up as far as an engine goes, but here is something I've been watching for another project I had in mind.
This one didn't sell, but you could contact the seller and negotiate a deal.
It's a brand new (500 miles) complete engine and transmission package. And since it's a 2000 model, there is no emission junk on it

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=33 0683018433&nma=true&rt=nc&si=JRAicUmExtKUOyhqBi2YA 7Y13XE%253D&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&orig_cvip =true&rt=nc

I am not going to do the other project I had in mind right now.... I got too much other stuff on my plate and not enough $$$ for more projects right now.......... so...

WOW!!! Looks like a lot of time and expertise went into this one!!!

Picture two.... maybe a mouse is stashing some snacks between the exhaust and head thermal blanket. Or are those just leaves/ something else?
