I discovered the 50DN alternator is weeping oil tears. I had thought maybe I needed the larger retro kit for oil flow, but I think that may already be installed. I did find the lower bolt on the rear housing was held in place by liquid gasket, others are scary loose and too easy to tighten. I am going to attempt to re-thread or helicoil in place. Pics to come later in the week. If this goes bad, I may be getting a new alternator.

I just happen to notice the bi-metallic switches for the engine fire are rusted through. I ordered these today.

Oh, and after seeing all the posts about leaking exhausts, I checked, I'm leaking.... I don't see how in the world I am going to get to those bolts....

I think I looked too hard today. I felt better about everything yesterday.
that whole muffler needs to come out to fix it
9/16 gear wrenchs to take of clamp then get to top and take off screen and bracket
water in the exhaust will waste these big mufflers
use a flap like me Kurt and Dereck to keep that water out!

Just go ahead and put bandaids all over your arms before you start.

The wife decreed that the fresh water pump was making more noise than before and therefore had to be replaced. Under instructions from on high a new ShurFlo was purchased and installed. Very quiet now. Had to adjust the bypass pressure just a touch but must admit it is working better.

Gutted the roof mounted A/C condenser housing. Dash air hasn't worked since we bought the coach and see no reason to fix it (roof air works fine and don't mind running the Genny on the road). Plan to put HID lights in the shroud... gotta keep an eye out for elk up here!

Thanks guys! I dropped the bus off this morning for the paint work. Rock chips in the front, a few minor side blemishes and and double clear coat on the nose!

For the exhaust leak, I am diligently focused on growing longer arms. Dual purpose, this should help when reading fine print and muffler repair.

Stand by for news! in a few days.....

Default Air Scoop

With some research and help from Randy and some other knowledgeable folks I had this air scoop made to help my tired radiator and cooling system work more efficiently. I haven't made a test run yet but we leave for BATB tomorrow. I don't like to things off until the last minute.

Did Randy tell you that you will be able to make faster left hand turns now, just like NASCAR?

[I noticed water dripping from the rear air conditioner so I ended up pulling it apart and after lifting the roof unit up I added new 2" foam strips and some 100% silicone to slick it up and sandwiched it back together. It seems that the 4 bolts were pretty loose to start with but pulling it apart and cleaning the seals seemed to be a good idea. I should have replaced the 25 year old unit while at it but now I see it won't be too hard to do. I also hard wired in a new Progressive Surge Protector since somehow the old portable unit got run over. Don't ask me how that happened... Oh ya, it was actually sunny and beautiful today all day. It has only rained twice since we got back from "Q" - once for 16 days and the other time for 30 days.
