WOG Express (Need someting hauled?) In this area people can post where they are leaving from and where they are going and if they have any room to haul anything as a favor to another member. Also, in this same area, people can post that they have something to move from Point A to Point B, in the hope of someone volunteering to haul it for them.

Default Pony Express area?

I'm just thinking out loud here, so don't kill the messenger .

I am on a few forums which have a Pony Express area. In this area people can post where they are leaving from and where they are going and if they have any room to haul anything as a favor to another member. Also, in this same area, people can post that they have something to move from Point A to Point B, in the hope of someone volunteering to haul it for them. In my vintage stereo equipment forum we have saved lots of members both money and time. So, do you think this would be a worthwhile area to have within WOG? Is it even an acceptable thing within the rules of WOG?

I know this happens off line, but I think it would be a good idea.

Alright, maybe we will get an area to help each other out. To start things off:

I can haul between Redding, CA and Reno, NV almost everyday starting next Friday. I have lots of room (empty truck) going to Redding and some room coming back to Reno.

I need eight AGM Group 31 batteries moved from Flagstaff, AZ north towards Reno . I can meet anywhere between Flagstaff and Reno. No hurry for these at all.

I think it's a great idea! Maybe John Finn can set up an area here on WOG. Thanks, John.

Too bad I didnt know about this a few weeks ago! Just got back from a trip to San Francisco, could have met you part way..
I assume your getting these from AZ Wind and Sun in Flagstaff?

Yeah, I just decided I was not happy with the Costco Deep Cycles. Two months old and they didn't blink when I returned them (and gave me my core deposit back too). I wish I hadn't procrastinated because I knew that I was going to go with the Trojan AGM-31. Yes, I am going to get them from Wind and Sun IF I don't get a quote from a few distributors I have contacted. With no tax in AZ on the batteries, I doubt that they will come close. I may just take the TDI wagon and zip down there before my trucking season gets started (next Friday ). It's only a 1500 mile roundtrip...If I timed it right I could get down and back in a day (24 hours) with about a $160 fuel bill.

Great idea, I like the name "WOG Express".

On an informal basis with Bird Friends, have shipped from rally to rally,
headed south, north & east, sometimes this method is great if not in a hurry.
Especially items heavy or hard to box-up, tow bars & base plates are a good example.
