Default Shut down not working

I got the startup problem solved on my kabuta .now i need to tackle the shut down .i would guess that the high temp shut down sender is a always open circut and once it reaches high temp it closes and goes to ground .that would mean there should be power at the sender ,but there is nothing.
Any thought on were to look next.
Wiring looks nice no rubs.

Gary

the temp shut down device is a switch (on-off)not a sender (variable read). the switch complete or remove the ground like you say. the +power is waiting at a relay for the ground to be either removed or completed by the temp switch. when the ground is manipulated by the reaction of the temp switch it causes a relay to open or close. the relay then causes a shut down.
lawn mowers are different in that the temp switch will ground out and remove the spark from the plug.

thanks greg ,
after studing the scamatic alittle more you are correct it is a switch and it does send a ground to the relay to cause shut down. i moved the relays around and that did not change anything so i am going to look closer at the wiring and that big plug behind the coolant resevoir for possible corrosion or bad connection.and check continuity on the wiring. but not tonight
thanks for your input,
gary

Gary, It could be one of the red button breakers have tripped. Last fall I had that problem and my gen did not want to shut off basically I had to choke it down to get it to shut off. Bill Pape & I replaced both of the breakers and it solved the problem. My breakers looked to be normal but they weren't they would flip on & off on their own. Weak springs or something I guess.

That's what this forum is all about isn't it Randy? State your problem, identify, find a solution and tell everyone else about it so we all can share and learn from it. I'm so glad that other guy got this site up and going aren't you Randy Inside joke...
