Default PDI- Pre Delivery Inspections by Ernie Ekberg

Folks, I would like to avail myself to do PDI for perspective owners. I have been involved with Bluebirds since 1982. Although I don't know everything- Brenda tells me that on a regular basis, I can give help and another pair of eyes to check out a coach. I have an extensive checklist and will give you a hardcopy of this report. Thanks, Ernie

Yes, I will travel. The perspective buyer would be responsible for those expenses. I don't need 5 star motels, etc.

I agree with Ron. Ernie, I wish I'd had you in Atlanta the other day when I passed up that SP. Too many unanswered questions that might not have amounted to a hill of beans, but still unanswered. Stay close to the phone.

Thanks all. I may add, though and I believe we would all agree that no bird is perfect and all will have something that needs adjusting/fixing/updating, etc. That's the fun of having one of these machines.

Based on my experience I would add that having a list of defects and a knowledgable person with you puts you in a good position to reduce the purchase price.

In my case I had already put a deposit down on the coach but was able to get the seller to knock another $3,000 off what I considered to be a very attractive price, based on the list and repair estimates that was provided to me by Coachworx in Clearwater.

Good point. An inspection can MORE than pay for itself in $$$ plus give peace of mind to the prospective purchaser.

Default Sounds Good

Hey there Ernie,

When I stopped driving charter buses full time, I still had and have a few groups that ask me to drive for them using their bus. Since these groups basically have to know up front what they will have to pay for my services, I charge a flat rate, in my case $8/hr for 10 hour day regardless of how much I drive/wait that day. I charge $25/day for meals. The only thing that can waver is the cost of my hotel which they can arrange themselves or I can arrange. When I do, I try to stay at $50/night not including taxes, etc. The groups I work with appreciate being able to know up front what expense they will be out, and we don't have to fiddle over receipts and expenses. I'm sure you can formulate a similar system so Wannabes and current owners know exactly what to expect. Good luck to you!
