I'm going to send Roger Anderson at DRI a sample of the seal to get his take on reproducing it. I'd also like to work with the M380 membership to see if there are any improvements that need to be made to the seal. In the meantime we know that there will be a setup charge in the neighborhood of $1500 for the tooling. I'd like to get a preliminary show of hands of who may be interested in contributing to the setup charge. Thanks!

I am in too! Looking forward to more info on helping to move the development forward

David,

I'm still in for $150. Chuck asked how the seal is held in place. The replacement seals come assembled with a strip of two-sided tape along the outside of the retainer. Johnny Anderson uses sickaflex on the corners.
In my experience, I've patched two slides with superglue and bicycle inner tube patches. Both in the same spot, almost directly in the center bottom over the inflation tube. By the way, the inflation tube and its hardware all must be stainless steel. I believe the biggest fault with the oem seal is the material It's made of. Even if it costs more, a better material, not thicker walls, would solve most problems. Thicker walls would require higher air pressure. My seals did not fail from wear, but from deteriorating material.

I have 800 plus feet of the seal retainer which does not come with the DRI seal. $1.00/foot, 100 feet needed... PM me if needed

I think I read the whole thread. Is there an address to send the money, or are we at that point yet?

David Brady was working on this. Haven't heard anything lately. We really do need to be working on both front and rear seals for the M380's. Is yours bad?
