The fairings on my bus were cracked around the base where they screwed into the roof. I am fibre glassing the bases to reinforce them. Also painted the air conditioning covers, as they were faded. Rob Robinson was up for a/few days and gave me a hand with the covers. He reinforced the edges of the covers where there were a couple cracks with sicoflex (sp).

I scrubbed my A/C covers and domes this spring, and was surprised at how much better it looked afterwards. But the new paint on your covers looks real smart. Nothing says "cared for" like a bird with gleaming stuff on the roof
![]() What sort of 'glass product are you using on the fairings--resin with the fiber mixed in? or glass mat?

Glass mat, socked with resin. Two layers. Have to paint before I re-install.
Michael You know I had a 78 for 12 years, before I upgraded. There are parts on my bus that are not steel, it weighs close to 50k lbs, but it will go faster than 63MPH. ![]()

Two layers of glass, a couple of the screw holes were in bad shape, I had to rebuild them. Primed tonight, they are not perfect, but they are good enough, will paint and clear coat tomorrow.

Looking good! I need to do mine as well. I'm beginning to think that a small, but pesky leak is coming through the cracks and screw holes on mine.
I don't have the skills to re-do mine, but I do have a very good friend in the body shop business.

Mine were messed as well
Instead of re-glassing which I'm not good at I bought new one from Stephan Birtles Dupree Products, Ryan made then, so Bird people all around All part of my complete roof restoration. Too bad there's no budget for solar panels

Ryan
Those look very nice. I repaired mine for around $50 and a few hours of work. The plastic cracked under the stress if the screws, the fibre glass reinforcement made them much stronger along the edge. I considered new ones but the cost was more than I was willing to spend.
