Default Looking for bay light assemblies

I'm in need of a few bay light assemblies. I found the BB part number (2250512), but nothing came up on an internet search.

Also, on my 86 PT40, in the bay just aft of the propane compartment, there is a completely different light assembly. Not sure if it is OEM or if it was prefaced by one of the POs. I'd like it to be a stock fixture if I can. Advise would be appreciated!

Thanks to the WOG for the tremendous brain trust and willingness to share!

The original bay lights on my bus were Perko mast lights. You can find them at marine suppliers. Most of the lenses on mine were melted due to a po putting too hot of a bulb in them. I replaced mine with led strips.

As Kevin stated the best thing you can do is replace them with LED strips. Several advantages; lower power, less heat, and strips reduce shadowing caused by a single light source.

Dave I've got a box of those around here somewhere.....Old school lights...
I....like alot of folks here have been upgrading with LED's. Brighter and uses less power. I've been replacing mine with some off Amazon, two for around 15 bucks!

Unhappy

Good idea, after I thought I had spilled something on my solar shad for the windshield and made two quarter size holes in it, I finally realized I had left my bay door open and the shield had come off the light and the bulb gets hot enough
To melt the plastic in the windshield cover.

Not only the lenses but the entire fixtures on the original Perko lights in our FC were melted. In process of replacing them all with small led fixtures from ebay.

I found the Perko's finally. Boy, are they pricey! So much for vintage purity

Time to hit the WOG for LED ideas.

Thanks for the info, Kevin!

I’m also working on bay lights. Does anyone know a source for these grounding switches that activate the bay lights? I’ve just used the last spare that came with my bus.

These are called "PIN" switches and are available from any auto store or auto security instalation supplier or installer.
