Default safe locations

Only had the bus a few months. Still getting to know her. With the keys, I recieved a large barrel key stamped Southco. Cann't find anything it fits. Suspect it might be a safe key. I've read the threads, and a common problem is having a safe but not having a key or combination. I understand there have been a variety of places where they are located.
Questions are:
1.) Would a 1992 40 ft Wanderlodge have had a safe?
2.) Where might it be? I assume there are many possible places.
3.) What would it look like?

I think the bus has been modified over the years, but not sure of the extent. Even if it had a safe to start with, it may have been removed, or, it may have been covered. Any advice on where to look?

Thanks. joe

My 1997 WB41 has a safe under the cushion of the J-shaped couch (curb-side of coach).

Default re looks ...

they are a black safe with a barrel lock. I would say the door is about 8" or so square, more-or-less.

We have a security system that uses a barrel key, to set the alarm , outside next to the door handle.

Default Safe Location

When I got my bird, I couldn't find the safe either. Finally located it in the left bottom of the rear closet. Hid under a "false shelf" slide the shelf out and there's the safe. Opens with a barrel key like yours. Strange the way BB moved the safe location around.

On my '83 the alarm barrel lock is to the left of the door on the outside. On my '78 it was on the left front corner near the mirrior mount. It was a small (1/4 to3/8) diameter key.
