Randy,

Is yours the type that has a port to connect to a computer? If so you can connect it to a notebook and activate the pointing manually. This would rule out or confirm power getting to the alignment circuits. Instructions on how to manually align via computer are in the back of the KVH book.

Randy,

What model is yours? If original it may be an LM or an L3? If upgraded possibly an R-5? If you can let me know which and I might can give a couple of pointers....

The L3 has serial numbers ranging from:
03030009 - 0307XXXX

And the model # is on the dome unless it has been painted over...

I can email you the manual if you like it is 1.22MB

Randy,

I've head the L3 system on my coach since 2002. If you can't find out why it's not rotating, remove the dome and check the belt under the unit. While unlikely, it's possible it has come off.

At the Swamp my dome refused to locate DTV, I read the trouble shooting section in my manual and it recommended disconnecting the DC power to the switch, waiting 30 seconds, then reconnect and go, that worked. It needed the board on the dome rebooted, first time in 10 years of no hassle operation.

Your KVH is probably an L3, which tracks as you drive.

It will not track nor find a signal unless it is receiving a signal from the receiver. Assuming your receiver is hooked up correctly and is working properly, it could be a broken coax to the dome or it could be a broken belt or something in the dome.
