Default Great RV Park

Hello all,

Martha, J. B. Dogg and I have just returned home after a one month stay in Carrabelle, Florida.

We stayed at the "Ho-Hum RV Park" hohumrvpark.com right on the water (St. George Sound). Funny name but a great park. Not exactly a 'fru-fru' resort, just gravel sites, full hook-ups, wi-fi and cable TV, friendly staff, a lot of white sand and dogs are allowed on the beach. The front window of our bird gave us a picture window view of the sound, dolphins patrolling in the morning and afternoon, beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Beautiful blue water. Check it out if you would like a laid back place to sit, sleep, read and eat plenty of delicious reasonably priced gulf seafood. BTW, We attended our first "Worm Grunt'n Festival" in Sopchoppy, about nine miles east of Carrabelle.

Tommy--glad to hear your initial foray into full-timing is going well. Hope to meet up with you somewhere, someday.

Hey, Jim -

Thanks for your comment..... Not full-timing, just "extended stays". Still have the little issue of getting the "homestead" sold and wandering through the Medicare "minefield".

Price of diesel has kinda limited us to shorter distances and longer stays rather than longer junkets.

We had planned on visiting Suska and Lou on Cape Cod this summer, but that may have to be put on hold until the prices come down a little. Paid $3.93 a gallon in Auburn, Alabama the other day. Felt like I got a bargain, my how things change.

Our satellite TV is working great - love the DVR feature, thanks to you friend.

Well, full-timing is just a series of extended-stay trips so you are almost there.

Glad to hear you are happy with your Winegard Carryout. I love mine and by moving it around on my roof I can still pull in DirecTV in the same spot at Shane's "campground" where other units are blocked, so I may taking up permanent residence here on Robin Drive.

I'm going to be in the Northeast all summer and want to get out to Cape Cod again so let me know if you head up this way and I'll try to meet up. I just purchased diesel in NJ last week for $3.79 a gallon so the savings could practically pay for your trip!

Jim

Jim, $3.73 is "better". FYI, an oil distribitor friend of mine, thinks it will be going down .

Says witrh elections coming on the powers to be (hope this is not political, John) demand is down and stragetic reserves may be released.

Maybe under $3.00 by early summer?

Regarding the Winegard carry out, seems not many folks are familiar with it. my use seemed to spark a lot of interest, among the fixed roof users no less.
