Great pics John!
The first Pic is of Don himself, for those of you that don't know him.

What Don and Jim B. did was take off only 2 lines, and 1 wire and then slid the unit out into the position you see in the pic with Don.
There was at least 6 more hoses, and lots of wires that we left in place.
It took longer to go get parts than it did to do the repair.

Spencer did the driving for the parts run, since hes a local.

While this was going on the rest of the hecklers were down a few coachs fixing the fuel pump on Gregs coach.

Same coach, different guy. Slow loss of boiler fluid from the Hurricane, been using it quite a bit the last couple days and am down again. Did you change all of those hoses or just one, Don? I don't see or smell anything so it may be a long look for the leak unless it's just leaking just enough to steam off quick. At least it's easy to get at and do.

Hmmm if it is a significant improvement and there's a significant problem with this one apart from a hose or connection. Hopefully it's just something simple. Thankfully, no puddles in the coach... Knock wood.

Default M380 Hurricane Leak Diagnosis

Finally got around to diagnosing my slow H leak. Last rebuilt it 5/16 with no issues until recently. That rebuild was also initiated to find a leak and resulted in replacement of the small Engine Heat circulation pump. Last nite, without pulling H out I removed the left side cover and found fluid coming from that little toilet paper roll sized pump - again . Thankfully it appears to be coming from where the pump screws into the H at the top. It will be tight but plan to pull the pump and pressure test to be sure. The hope is this one will be as simple as adding Teflon tape and reseating the pump! Used the “rag wrench” on everything then let the Engine Heat circulation pump run for about 10 min. Pump started out struggling and weak (from never being run), but quickly spun up to what sounded like normal. Red plastic jar lid positioned under pump confirmed leak and fluid appears to be coming from threaded area at its top, not the pump. Fingers crossed and will remove to verify. If a leak had to occur this one is in a “good” place that’s accessible from the left side, without pulling the H box.

Chip - go back and do a search for the thread from 3-1/2 yrs ago where I rebuilt the H - good info there. Sorry Randy

Made the mistake of firing up the H with the front panel not in place. Bad idea! (See pic below ). Quickly shut down and used opportunity to clean the burner chamber. With < 100 hrs the past 3-1/2 years it wasn’t bad. Will take care of pump and Then flush/replace fluid before trying again .

Plan to take pics as I flush for our new 380 members...

Agreed Randy. If it is the pump & not the threads above that’s leaking, that’s exactly what I’ll do. As I recall, that little pump was > $200 the last time and a generic one likely 1/10 of that. Would be a simple 2 wire connect to existing. Why is it no one mentions when you are purchasing one of these fine machines that being a contortionist is one of the ownership requirements?

Added two pics of the H side open. In first pic can see the main heater circulation pump below and to the left of the Engine PreHeat pump.
