Default Blocking up the bus....

Ok, we are blocking up the bus today in prep for airbag replacements. I have one more weekend with my hubby before his little surgery. So the plan is to do as much as we can before the 24th. New bags still aren't here yet.

We have old hardened oak 9x9 barn beams we are going to cut to block from the ground to the chassis and from the chassis to the body.

What I need are the measurements, so we cut the beams correctly.
The bus sits on 12Rs.

Please and thank you.

it sounds like the grain will be running vertically?
I'm not sure i would do that.
i think the grain needs to run side to side.

No, he is going to lay them and stack them cross hatch so the grain is not all going in the same direction. Just looking for the height so he knows how much wood to cut.

Should be stacked on the flat sawn sides if it has one.

Is Tony a “Woodchuck”?

If so How much Wood Could a Woodchuck Chuck if a Woodchuck could Chuck Wood?

For your Project , You will need enough Wood to Stretch from the Floor to the Bottom of Frame on Bus with Bus Aired up.

Then Measure that Distance and there you go! NO?

Yes....we know all this. Was just trying to avoid him having to repeatedly go under measure, get up cut, go back under raise, measure cut raise.....etc. The wood beam will be laying on its side so the wood grain is parallel with the ground. We are also using previously cut 2x6s to add height. His airbag jack just popped. Luckily he has a spare. Cutting big old hardened beams down to fit under the chassis and not interfere with the creeper. There is quite a mess under there from the leaky trans line that also needs to be replaced.

Or jack the bus up until the boards stack up properly.
I don't custom cut boards,i jack up until they fit.

This wood chuck would find his way to a shop with a pit and chuck his credit card at the man behind the counter. Some times valor gets us chucks in trouble. That and sticking your head too far out of the hole. Have lots of chucks around my place. They don’t chuck wood they dig holes (graves)
