Default Check engine light stays on - Can't find computer port

Have 89 WB PT 40 Silver Edition with an 8V92. When leaving Oregon heading home to Arizona our check engine light would not go off. Stopped at Detroit Diesel in Las Vegas but they were unable to find the computer port to read codes. We've spent a lot of time trying to find it ourselves without any luck. Frustrated. Please help.

Thanks

Remove the panel with the switches for the remote control mirrors...

This panel is located at floor level on the left side dash panel below the Allison shift pad.

Let us know what you find inside that cavity.

Talking Found it !!

Dick

Huge thank you!! The engine and transmission ports are exactly where you said.

Will go to a diesel shop in Kingman and get the codes read.

Again thanks very much.

Ed

Thanks for responding. I topped off the coolant & oil before starting the coach. After engine was running I checked the trans fluid. After the check light would not go out I changed both fuel filters and added a gal of fuel conditioner that claimed it would improve Cetane, solve gelling & clean fuel ejectors. At the truck stop we then added 100+ gal of fuel. We drove from Oregon to Arizona and the check light did not go out. The oil pressure and temp were both within normal ranges. Thanks for your help.

Default Check engine light

On my 88 the check engine light stayed on any time I was going down hill with the cruise on. Several Detroit shops never could figure it out.

Keep us posted.

Default Finding the ECM 5 amp fuse on the ECM EDU power panel

I have been following the DDEC 1 troubleshooting chart procedures for "check engine light staying on". I have gotten to the point where it says to "check the ECM 5 amp fuse". It is suppose to be on the ECM EDU power panel. I can not find the power panel or the fuse. Can anyone help?

Thanks
