Default Camping at Cave-In-Rock

We stopped over at Cave-In-Rock, Ohio ( I mean Illinois, on the Ohio river)for a couple of days. We went down to the ferry that crosses the Ohio river into Kentucky and found out it is FREE. I took some measurements to see if my FC will bottom out getting on the ferry, I still have to work out the numbers.

Also there was a campground right on the river with 50 amp service and water. Currently we are at the Cave-in-rock state park, but will move today. The river-side campground also has 15 amp service as seen in the photo below, but we will opt for the 50. No GFI here

We will spend a couple of days watching the barges run up and down the river. Very pleasant place to rest up.

Also a couple of pics of the cave.

Randy,
It is a natural phenomenon, modified by man but not the CCC.

Hi Gardner,

It looks like Cave-in-Rock must be way-way-way down in the Southwestern corner of Ohio about 200 miles from Cincinnati, in a place called Illinois.

We moved from the state park to the campground by the river. 50 amp and water plus clean showers and bathrooms, $12.50/night. Here are a couple of pics from the camp-site. On the Illinois side of Ohio river looking at Kentucky.

We plan to spend two or three days here just sitting and watching the river. The ferry crosses back and fourth when there are no barges passing vy.

Me too...that photo perhaps is the best answer to the question "should I carry a voltage tester"?

Funny...I have seen hookups like that test out just fine...while others that looked much better had problems (low volts, reversed pol, poor ground). Better to test first with the tester rather than your coach!

John,
My computer and wireless air card are constantly giving me a pain in the neck. I think that was the 4th or 5th time I tried to update and I got the state and river mixed up. I fixed it
