Default Aqua Hot Leak

While doing a little camping over the weekend my Aqua Hot developed a leak. As you can see from the pictures - it looks like the expansion hose may have split at the clamp, and the pressure cap looks to leaking also. By the looks of the cap, I'm sure this had been developing for some time - and I should have caught beforehand.

From the previous threads this seems sorta/kinda common. So I'll start with replacing both the hose and cap, then refill with coolant.

Also, only the electric element was being used for hot water, the burner was not on. Temperature was good.

Anything else obvious from the pictures?

My documentation shows the radiator cap to be a NAPA 703-2445, which is no longer a valid NAPA part number. Anyone replaced one lately and know the new NAPA part number or Balkamp equivalent?

All I know is it should be rated for 13 pounds. I imagine any cap with that rating will fit.

I see in the pictures the coolant overflow tank is full. Turn off the electric, let it cool, the level should drop. This is an aqua hot, right, not a hydro hot?

I was thinking the same thing, but looking at 13 lb caps on NAPA site, there's certainly differences in W x H dimensions. Maybe that doesn't matter - dunno.

Yep, it's an Aqua Hot.

Clint, I had the same problem a couple of months ago. Not all 13# caps will work BTW. I went through a couple before I had the right one. The NAPA part number I'm using is is 703-1697. Was under $6. One of the cheapest repairs I made. Mine was also leaking like yours.

Clint, your black hose and clamp may work fine but I had one like that that leaked. I think it was due to the flat spot on the clamp. That could be your problem. I replace my cap, just assumed all the same, will have to check to se if it is exactly the same.
