Many of us have replaced the refrigerator. I dont know of any that have removed their windshield. I have been involved in three of these replacements myself. We had to remove the passenger seat on one of the three. All three were household upgrades.

Man I am so glad to hear that! I thought the exact same thing. Thanks for answering that so quick. Do you know a rough price range of the refrigerators?

House style: $1000-$2300 +/- w/ Samsung on low-end to Fisher-Paykel on the high and GE in middle
RV style 2/3-way: $850 if you replace the guts to almost $3K for brand new
Above are plus install: $0 DIY up to = cost of unit

DIY installed Samsung RF18 3+ years ago. It developed defrost problems after a year. Think I may have that issue solved, finally. Wouldn’t go back to RV style EVER.

Use WOG search for several threads on the above. Lots of help there.

Good morning Wesley
I replaced my Norcold with the Samsung RF18 This one has been used and recommended by many on this site. I second that It is a nice functional unit that will run all night on battery (inverter) power

I got mine at the Sears outlet near Carswell AFB in Fort Worth. It was a scratch and dent special with just a couple of very minor issues on the sides These are not visible anyway after installation.

Go online and check availability and they actually have pictures of any damage

Might be worth a trip to FTW.

A Bluebird has a huge learning curve. They are big and sophisticated machines that require commitment and TLC. But, they are great machines and great memory makers.
You have come to the right place for answers and camaraderie.

Good Luck with the purchase.

Max

Thanks Randy, Much appreciated. I am mechanical but just being cautious. Right now I have a 91 Skoolie that I have worked on but still new to the diesel stuff. It has around 250k miles but as long as i have the maintenance records I figure that will be good.

Good video on the RF18 install in a WB at the link below if you want an overview.
They are WOG members.

Default Blue box contents

Good morning y'all,
I have been perusing the user group but havent been able to find it yet. I am wondering what the contents of the blue box is supposed to have? Is there something specific I need to make sure is there?
Thanks everyone.

The blue box held the manuals for all of the different parts of the bus. Most people put their receipts in there, so that is the most important thing that you are looking for. WOG has copies of most, if not all, of the manuals.

Besides what was mentioned there is a 3 ring binder, with detailed operating instructions on every facet of the bus, from what the dash gauges and switches are to how they operate and what they do, how to start genny, how to start the bus, how to shut it off and park and everything in between, including all the operations of interior features, heat, cool, fridge, Konstant Hot etc. etc. Mine had all the schematics for my bus, for every electrical component, both 12v and 12v, plumbing schematics, and heating. I also had one showing all the airlines, tanks, etc. There should be a manual that tells you where all the grease zerks are for lubrication of the bus. Plus anything else the PO may have inserted.
