I never went up there all that often,it was too close for us to stop in if we were on the way somewhere.
Back in those days we were always on a mission, working a show somewhere.
The times we did stay was when we were seeing the guys in purchasing or something at the plant.
A few times we shuttled a Bird in and out of the nest.
It was a great meeting spot...

Nobodys mentioned the security,a man at the gate to the employee parking lot, which you had to drive through to reach the nest.
It was a safe place.

And service was great. They picked your coach up in the morning and put it back the way they found it, leveled, plugged in, AC running if needed, really great!

^^^ Exactly...I felt the same way.

We bought our FC in 2004 in Dothan, GA. We were driving back to Northern VA and I had heard of "The Nest". We figured it would be a logical and good place to set as our first destination after the purchase on the way back home. I didn't have the nerve to hit the interstate for that first stretch so we enjoyed some nice GA highways on the way to Fort Valley.

We found "the gate" and the guard logged us in. We found an open spot and started walking around. The groundskeeping/landscaping was perfect. Visited the guest house and loved it.

I regret that I can't remember the names of the folks I talked to...but once I told folks I had just purchased the coach, I had several people "walk me around" the bus explaining various functions, and oddities of a BlueBird Wanderlodge.

The Luce family really built a legacy to admire with BLueBird and the Wanderlodge Division. More than busses....they built a community.

I drove by the old factory Wednesday. The nest certainly isn't getting any less overgrown but it looks like blue bird is using the factory or at least its paved lots.
