Default Engine compartment fan

The fan that blows air over the top of the engine, you know the original round fan. The electric motor that runs it on my bus is shot and I'd like to get it working again (I know there are other solutions) but I'd like to "fix" that if I can.

Does any one know of a replacement motor for that fan or a facility to repair that motor?

I did have a electrical motor repair shop look at it and it's pretty much toast so it would either need replaced or more repair then just the brushes. (They said many hundreds of dollars to repair)

Or is it just not a practical fix.

John in other instances WOG members have found different styles of motors at Graingers. Genny fans (side and rear) as well as Cool-O-Matic come to mind.

Is it that long squirrel cage fan you speakith of? Got mine working - it's a noisy sucker - tied to aux. electric fan on swing up louvered panel.
Hope you are not in a big hurry - we'll bat around a few ideas at Shane's rally

I've already done over 40K miles of flying this year for my job.

Believe me when I say I wish I didn't fly either. But, I have to do SOMETHING to pay for the Bird!
