Smile allison transmission manuals

i have purchased 3 allison manuals and also have the set of military manuals to trouble shoot and help with allison problems.

i have the manual needed to do a "pin out" of the wiring harness and have found a company to reprogram these md-3000 series and 4000 series transmissions with the wtec 2 and wtec 3 wiring arrangements.

i was told that what i have bought and we have is old school and not many shops will work on them.

if i can help with problems --i will--they are good transmissions and when myself and randy get done with my coach..we will be great shade tree/arm chair repair folks!!

post your trouble codes if you cannot figure it out-these books will help .

they are too big to post and copywritten so that is that--over 300 pages.

Woody: You did good!!! Nothing wrong with 'old school', cause you got the books now. Might be a good idea for folks with 'old school' Allisons to do as you suggested earlier...get on Ebay and buy up a spare TCU or ECM or TCM or whatever and get the reprogramming done now while some Allison Shop is willing to flash the unit or whatever is required to come up with a spare Transmisson Module. When you have time let us know who you found to help you with the regear/reprogramming. I think you are gonna getter dun!!!

I have never seen them reprogram either an allison or a ZF tranny but would like to know how. Do they use a computer to do it? And if so when you get your tranny reprogrammed can you also have them load the program into your laptop?

Smile

you send them the box

then they reload the ecm/box off a laptop or regular puter

its a factory Allison program that is loaded for different transmissions

there is over 600,000 programs i am told

i dont think that they will give the program out.

the cable interface to load them is over 3000$

the program is only given out to master allison certified mech.

they only do this at a distributor or this guy is all that and started up his own business....

i think and he does too that the big company dont want to support anything over 10 yr old ....

so I thought about buying the set up and got estimates from 9500 and up for every thing to do it andthenthey still wanted the certs from allison
