Question tranny fluid amount?

Fixing to change tranny fluid and filter.
Just gonna drop the plug and filter.

question? Does anyone remember how much tranny fluid it would take?

The Blue Book says 18.5+1qt. for filter when DRY.

THIS IS FOR A ALLISON 5 SPEED ON A 6V92.

Capacity depends on the depth of your oil pan. The attached HT Series should help.

Hi Jeff,

For what it's worth, my 84 1/2 PT-36 took 16 Qts. with a filter change.

I think Jeff's 85 has an Allison MTB654-CR/5 speed like my 84 1/2 had so those HT Series charts calling for 30 plus QT's of fluid most likely don't apply to his transmission.
