Default CALLING ALL BMC OWNERS

We chose a BMC for -among other reasons - the availability of Spartan and Cummins service centers. Now we are unable to locate service within a (reasonable) 4 hour drive from Charlotte, NC. Thanks to Mike there's nothing pressing at the moment, except the pesky ABS light, but I'd like to know who they are before they're needed. So we're casting the net to include the southeast - where do you all go for chassis service?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Spartan is good for parts (not your only choice by far but it makes it real easy when you can just call up, give them a vin and order a part)..rvchassisparts.com is the spartan parts website. For chassis work I don't want to/can't do myself I use Inland Truck Parts. This thread should be your guide:

FYI my bus has only been to Spartan once by the PO..he took it there for a full workover (ie: if it needs fixing or replacing, do it..here's the credit card).

I would think a search of the Charlotte area would find a Coach service facility. Don't those NASCAR folks use Prevost built RVs?

What is it your needing done or are expecting to do?

There are a number shops in Shreveport , LA that work on Cummins .
United Engines is an Allison Service Center as well as Cummins.
For chassis work , I use Commercial Frame and Alignment.
For tires I use Southern Tire Mart .

With that said , I only use them for work that I either can't do or don't feel comfortable doing.

I've had major work done by Carolina Auto Truck and Coach in Charlotte. Jay the owner is a previous Wanderlodge owner.

David - Thanks; I located their website and address. Will go check them out this week. Do you object if I name you as a referral?

Default BMC Service

Dan,

As you can tell most of us do our own chassis work if it's something we can tackle. It's amazing what can be done with a little detective work or persistance (coolant leaks, air leaks, fridge installation, new flooring, changing shocks, anti-sway bar bushings, air dryer maintenance, etc. There is a lot of generic advice on the Forum that applies to Wanderlodges and also applies to BMC's. If you plan to travel in the the North sometime going by Spartan in Charlotte Michigan at some point and getting their 144 point (or some big number, I can't remember what) inspection is probably worth it. Of course they will always find something and if they do the work it generally is done right but pricey.
If you are looking for something specific to BMC's it's proably better to post under the BMC section.
I have been to a few of the Cummins Crosspoint loccations for engine work (some are in Kentucky and Tenn) and they have been pretty good. I was at one Cummins location in Tampa and it was not so good. Also it's a good idea to check out www.rvservicereviews.com as they will give you service centers all across rhe country with what was done and how the work was rated by the coach owners.

For transmission and some other work I have gone to Covington Power service (now taken over by Clarke) http://www.jarrettbay.com/2011/11/co...ower-services/ here in Kingsport TN and found them reasonable and good. They have locations all across the SE. Good luck. We really think the BMC's are the hidden jewels of the Blue Bird line. Lots of help on the forum if you need it.

Can't imagine anyone would think dropping my name would help, but I have no objections.
