Default Facet Wiring

The PO did some serious hacking on the wiring of our engine compartment. The hot wire for the facet pump is hooked to the fuel shut off solenoid. Anyone know which sending unit it should be hooked to and it's location on the engine?

Woody got it wright.

The electric fuel pump should be wired to an oil pressure switch,( two wire) same as the hour meter, probably located near the oil pressure sensor.
Pump & hour meter should run with oil pressure not 12 v ignition.

Just a thought: An option to consider since your right there playing with these wires is to add a suitable double throw/single pole switch (two separate "on", center "off". Position 1 on is when oil pressure switch is closed (powered), and the alternate #2 on is as currently wired. # 2 would allow an easy way to prime fuel system.

I installed a push button next to the primary filter for the Facet pump yesterday. The Racor was removed by the PO and replaced with a spin-on (with drain). We were having fuel system problems (air in fuel, fuel in the valley). This would have been a plus for bleeding the air when necessary (would'nt start twice without bleeding last trip out).

We got our fuel system sorted out (by CAT)--cracked governor housing and worn throttle shaft.
