If you want the best bang for your buck then it is hands down the Blue Bird you buy . You will still need to maintain her but with this group all is possible .

Now if you want a challenge then go with the Eagle . No doubt she has the best ride and the looks of a classic but I would be looking for a Eagle owners group and see if the support needed matches what you will have here.

The Prevost will be the most expensive to buy and maintain so if cash is plenty then go big , Go Prevost

If you are looking at old co nversions be cautious. If it was not converted in a factory like Marathon or Liberty you are buying an unknown. Bluebirds are not conversions. They were built in a real factory by real techs. Not some backyarder.

Bill I hear ya, thing is we hope to buy something in the next month. If my wife's new job comes through we don't wanna be hotel-ing it for very long with our 3 furry aggravators.

For this quick decision call Randy, buy a known Bird in your budget,
that fits a 6 footer. He will steer you in the right direction.
if it doesn't suite your needs for full timing after a while upgrade to another Bird. You will need some help and this is the place.

Randy, I know we talked about the BMC 37 in the other corner of the state. I just HATE the interior of the Pine Bluff one. The money is right on it though.

Saw a PT40 today. 8v92 ran like a champ as did genset, couple of rust issues underneath (nothing major that I could tell from my initial look-see). Interior very clean and essentially original. Headroom doable, but would obviously prefer more.

So PTs will allow a 6'1 person to walk around without ducking even with roof air units. Are all PTs (non wide body) the same height? Are wide bodies taller?

Are the air operated tank drain valves dependable? I didn't even know such things existed until today!!

Who makes the cruise control units on these? Are they repairable?

It didn't appear to have any basement heat sources that I could see. Was that an option some didn't have?

Last winter I was on Fort Myers Beach when the Bus Grease Monkey was working on two mid 80 Eagles. That torsion elastic suspension was coming all apart on both buses. He told me the rubber dry rots. He welded in a bunch of steel and made plates for air bags. They are pretty, but I’m 6’6” and I have plenty of room in my Lx. We do have heat on our basement as many BB do. I don’t know who makes the CC but I have seen them fixed here on the WOG. Also you can retrofit a modern version if you have to. It’s here someplace. The air tank drains work well. And the parts are easy to find as they originally came from the big truck world.
