Default aquahot coil repair

I had an Aquahot with a coil that burst from lack of winterizing.
(Not in my coach,it was a customers coach)
So,the other day we decided to rewrap the coil, the old coil was copper and we wrapped it with pex.
Click on the thumb nails and they rotate.

1-the coils with the splits
2-getting started
3-cutting the copper off
4-peeling the copper off
5-wire wheeling the mastic off the tank,we then painted the tank
6-Mark,grinding away
7-100 foot coil of pex, hangin loose
8-the wrapping
9-wrapped!
10 wrapped and covered in mastic (good thing we don't make cakes!

we did loosen the coils and packed mastic under the coils, then covered the coils with mastic.
it took 120 feet of pex and 2 gals of mastic

Don't you have to use aluminum heat transfer plates when using the same amount of PEX as you do copper? This is interesting.
