Stephen,

Do you carry Westfalia Triple-S flex pipe? Do you still carry stainless steel exhaust systems?

Question for you guys with the "new stuff". Seems to me running the exhaust pipes up and through the walls of these coaches is just asking for trouble. Is there a good reason to do so and would it be practical to abort those systems and just run a pipe(s) to the back like our old girls? I know the trucks run with pipes up and I would guess it might have some practical advantages but they are not built around them. Just curious.

We Use a smaller diameter muffler
it aids in cooling occupies less space and you actually create a upward draft

John,

Typically the muffler isn't the issue, it's the pipes connecting to the muffler, specifically the flex pipe, and the old girls have the same issues with the flex pipe. The problem with going down and out is that there's inevitably something directly above the muffler that's getting baked, usually either a battery bank or the radiator stack. Up and out is really clean, efficient, and nifty, and works beautifully in stainless. I think I'll keep it, but thanks for the thought.

Here's a picture of my coach in stainless. Neat, tidy, compact, and elegant.

I have not seen a flex pipe burn out but the pipes are certainly suspect to burning out or rust through
This applies to all pusher coaches
