If you'd like something inconspicuous when off, look at some of the motorcycle applications. We have a 12" led strip that attaches with double sided tape. We added these as our current bikes only had 1 small low mounted tail/brake light. They work really well.

Looking for the 6500 light assembly and ended up ordering from the local NAPA. Price was good but there was only one in their entire US inventory . . . in N.J. It is now on the way to Colorado. A new light was needed because the old one had rusted out which was discovered during rusty screw removal and replacement. I have concluded that different individuals working different stations used different fasteners for the same applications on different sides of the bus when first built.
