Default M380 Xantrex battery charger amp draw on Leg 2

Boondocking this week...

After minimal overnight battery use and one pot of coffee, I have fired the generator off and experienced a 20-25A 110VAC amp draw on Leg 2 as the batteries come up, which with the rear air running will pop the Leg 2 breaker on the genset and take out both legs (maybe also a weak breaker there as well). I am assuming that the Xantrex is to blame for this, I am happy to leave the rear air off while it's doing this but wondering if there's something I am missing?

My SPs generator would not require heat cloth, a household fan and removal of the side cover while fully rolled out not to overheat! That is a known quantity. But other things make up for it...

Sounds like you have an issue with both the generator cooling and a bad breaker. 25 amps is about right for the battery charger and an AC unit. That should not pop a breaker.

Thanks Jim! Now sorting out water pump DC short somewhere between switch and pump. Interesting week of staying on top of this...
