Caterpillar 3208 Solutions This sub-forum is hosted by Mike Hohnstein who has been at this kind of thing for 50+ years now, guess I'm addicted. The saga has been all about progressively larger shop space since then. Honestly, never wanted to get into the CAT 3208's that were originally considered to be a throwaway engine but that's all that works in a FC in my world. Same thing with my Ford toter, that came with a NA, too much effort to hang in a 6, so been at it with the CAT V-8 for 20 years now. In reality you can get excellent life out of a CAT 3208 if it's built correctly. Post your questions about the CAT 3208 engines here and Mike will try to help you out.

Well, just running the generator for the last couple hours and the vacuum gauge stayed at 5 in. I had a facet from forum advice, so changed it. At key on the vacuum went straight to 0. Fingers are crossed that it was the solution. The vacuum never went down with the other pump at key on. I have 3 racors ready and a full tank of fuel, ready to strike out and the morning and test it. The pump installed previously was a little green guy, not a facet.

Of course we all all guessing.
Is there a fuel pump switch added to the dash anywhere?
Or an unmarked switch?
Good call Randy!

Here's a chassis parts drawing that supposedly shows the original configuration:

Thank you John. I looked in my blue book and couldn’t find that. I do have several large format drawings I found that I will have to figure out how to upload in case no one else has them. I do have all the structural drawings from the slide install as well. I am very hopeful Randy was indeed right once again with the pump suggestion.

Yes, thank you everyone. Just made it home with the bird for the first time. 830 miles in 16 hours with zero issues aside from it not wanting to downshift.
