Heat is required to move the frozen bolts.

I had the same issue with my passenger side mirror when getting ready for Winter storage. Found a lot of crud under the cap and couldn't budge the nut with a 1/2" ratchet. Careful application of heat, PB Blaster, and a cheater bar made quick and easy work of it. Will need to clean it up in the Spring when time to redeploy the mirror. Not sure how so much crud found it's way under the cap. Will apply some anti-seize.

Sometimes I wish I had power mirrors. Mine are both frozen solid. On the bright side they seem to be perfectly positioned. Lights at night don't shine in my eyes. I have to move my head a bit to look way back down the road, They're aimed down slightly. Perfect for backing up.
