Default 2019 - March 29-31 - Burro Creek

AZ Hot Birds Burro Creek, AZ Hike - Mar 29-31

The Burro Creek Recreation Site is situated along Burro Creek within a very scenic Sonoran desert canyon at an elevation of 1,960 feet. This peaceful area has long been a favorite stop of travelers on nearby Highway 93. Visitors here are often interested in the contrast between the deep blue pools and tree-lined banks of Burro Creek, and the saguaro-studded hills and cliffs of its desert setting.

- Located 60 miles NW of Wickenburg & 70 miles SE of Kingman you may have noticed its beautiful bridge as you passed by? Elevation is 1960 feet there.

- Camp out with us Friday & Saturday night and explore the trails, river, and wildlife there. There's RV camping, tent camping, and car camping, or even just for the day will work.

- There is a Ramada with shade, plenty of tables, water and dump site available, and flushing bathrooms if needed.

RSVP please - limited space on this one

Default Space for one more bird?

Hi,

Do you still have space for another bird on this trip? It'll be me, a rookie, and possibly my 3 kids (8 year old triplets), depending on their mom's schedule.

NP Joe, plenty of room! Bring your solar if you don't get it installed at Solar Penny and we'll have a solar install party!

Burro Creek Wrap Up

Thanx everyone for another excellent adventure at Burro Creek this year. With all the cancellations and down buses we still managed to pull off a fun rally. The hike went well, no injuries, no shortage of food and spirits.

We had representation from Utah, California, Washington, and Arizona. We had our usual crazy guys, there's always one! We even installed Solar on Joe's new to him 91SP36 out in the desert. As you can see our supervisor Kevin had this all under control with his director's chair and ever present beer that he never put down!

It was definitely a "bring what you got" rally and Joe was the only honorary Wanderlodge this year due to cancellations but the"and friends" part of the AZ Hot Birds pulled through. I even had a 26' trailer with a bathroom this year, Tami was happy but said "last time with no bus"

Looking forward to focusing on the bus engine swap now and ease off the heavy schedule for a while.

Yes, this was a fun rally with great folks. Excellent star gazing around the campfire. And I left with my solar panels installed and wiring routed into my coach! An extra thank you to Mike and Kevin for that. I'll try to attend this one next year as well.

Was a pleasure meeting up with you Joe. I'll add you to our AZ Hot Birds mailing list and keep you abreast of other rallies.
