Got a complete AquaPro system from Steve and it really is the Cats Meow! My batteries are enclosed so the watering system was the way to go.

Thanks Steve.

Ryan,

How do you guard against hydrogen and oxygen outgassing? Do you have an active or passive ventilation system? Do you have a Hydrogen gas detection device?

Hello David! Hope you are over that nasty cold you had?

The whole backside and battery floor is open. I would not want a "boom, boom" under the bus The lid to the inside enclosure is flush with the bottom of the frame rail so no pocket to trap gas either. Thanks for asking

Post some pictures of your new batteries if you can? (Before they get dirty!)

Well Ron you will just have to make that long drive (Hee, Hee!) and come over to see it yourself (in all that spare time you seem to have!)

BTW all, Ron and I and the CoachWorx Rally Grand Master Jim Nichols had a great lunch together the other day too, yummy!

Tom is a guy thats retired and got into the Lifeline business for a hobby.
He hangs out on the Prevost Owners Group and the Newell Group and hes now becoming a member here.
He offers discounts on batteries and he has some technical advice for us as well.
Lets see what he has to say.

Default Watering system

Stephen has the Aqua Pro system and I understand it is great for 12V batteries and I think his price is competitive. I ended up buying a Pro Fill system from Flow-Rite which is designed for 6V batteries (don't know why the difference, I assume it has to do with the spacing of the vent caps). Their 12V system is called Quik Fill

http://www.flow-rite.com/battery-watering/pro-fill-rv

Here is a little better picture at US Battery

http://www.usbattery.com/usb_watering_home.html

I got mine here

http://www.rvpowersupply.com/pro_fill.htm

for $148 plus about $10 shipping. I have to admit they must be making a pretty good profit on all these kinds of systems. Normally you expect to see a little more for $150 although I guess the inside of these vent caps must be fairly intricate.

I installed it yesterday and it goes in easily. They say to pump the bulb until it gets "firm" but that is a little subjective. I am being careful at this point so I do not overfill so I am watching to see if anything comes out (as the batteries go through the charging cycles) at the "firmness" I used.
