Default 2017 - May 26-29 - Kaibab Lake, AZ

Kaibab Lake - May 26-29, 2017

6th Annual AZ Hot Birds Kaibab Lake Rally
Created by: Fred & Bobbi Engel

- Located just outside Williams, AZ up in the cool country, perfect time of year.

- Experience Fred Engel’s famous Dutch Oven Cobbler for desert! Yummmmm
- Bring your bike! Great place to ride.
- Make reservations RIGHT NOW!! These just went on sale!
- Over Memorial Day Weekend
- We want to make sure we’re all in Loop-A & B if possible.

If you cannot get into A or B loops then look for C, D, & E. You may play with the dates to see if the spot is available. Also, make SURE you check the site length! Also, note there is a list of sites and a map on the website for clarity.

Etiquette question:

At events like the Q, I'd have no problem parking out in the 3rd or 4th ring and running the Onan as needed.

In more picturesque setting as this, is it O.K. to run it and hour or two in the morning and again at night? In addition to coffee in the morning, I have kids that require a hot bath daily.

I don't have an upright exhaust system on generator.

Most places have quiet time rules, typically 10pm-6am. At Kaibab there's plenty of room between sites so exhaust is not an issue. At Q it's much tighter so an exhaust extension is preferred, but not required. As you stated it's good etiquette to run one. Most people (without solar) do exactly that, 2 hrs in the morning & 2hrs in the evening. BTW, I don't typically run the genset but plumbed my exhaust out the back of the bus to be more RV friendly abd not have to deal with a stack.

Default I'm in

Just reserved B-17. Lied about the length of "The Short Bus", but I been doing that for years. If they haven't shortened the space so it really is only 30 feet, I'll still fit, with room for the toad.

We're in A28. I should have most stuff sorted out by then, but would appreciate a few folks giving my bus a once over if time allows.

Good to see a few more sign up, glad there were still spots available. Do you need the once over before the trip or up at the Rally? We do both.

I requested Thurs to Tues. When I first put in for these dates showing 31 ft length it showed only 22 and 28 available, next screen showed 17 available but only for 30 ft, so I changed the length and reserved it. I know, because I have been in it at least twice before, that it is plenty big enough for "The Short Bus" and toad so I left the bigger spots for those who need them.

In Nov I spoke with a supervisor named Bill at the res number listed for Kaibab, about site #A27 and it's 35' length limit. He said there'd be no problem with a longer coach "as long as it can be parked completely on the paved surface and is out of roadway". He said the CG hosts would not refuse and called #A27 his "sunny site" after I said I wanted it due to my solar. Last Memorial Day we were in A29 (an awesome site with lots of privacy & a partial lake view!) but had to use the generator due to it being so shady. Sorry Shawn, before 8am no generators allowed anywhere near A27!

No worries. Kids don't get up till 7:30. Expect them at your door around 7:32. They like pancakes, waffles, yogurt, juice,..................Brush their teeth before sending them back.
