Default Viney Creek State campground

We're camp hosting here for the month of May. Viney Creek State Recreation Area was built in the middle of last century by the CCC & maintained by the Corps of Engineers until 5 years ago. They're gradually getting out of the Park business & Missouri State Parks took over in 2015.
Viney Creek is on Table Rock Lake in SW Missouri, just a few miles from the Arkansas border. The campsite is a long narrow peninsula, pretty much all sites have a lake view (it's only about 1/4 mile wide at it's widest point!), there's a dump station & about 1/2 the sites have electric, 5 with 50A. Sites up to 48' long, many with mature trees. There's a boat ramp, used to be a swimming beach; it's still there but no life jackets, rescue equipment, etc, so it can no longer be designated one. Good trout & bass fishing. It's really out of the way, very quiet, and, best of all, it has awesome camp hosts, at least for this month! The thing is, few outside the locals know about it; 3 guests this weekend. We even still have vacancies Memorial Day Weekend, although they are starting to fill up. The only cons; no shower house, and some cell providers don't work here: to my knowledge T-Mobile does not, AT&T does. Also, bring in supplies; nearest supermarket is over 1/2 hour away. Anyway, even when we're not the camp hosts, it's a really nice place to stay!

I agree, it is a nice place. We were scheduled to be camp hosts there in June and July, but they needed hosts at Roaring River State Park (which manages Viney Creek). So we are in campground B for those months. Feel free to stop by and visit!
