Cool M380 Slide Trim Piece Water Leak Fix (not plumbing)

Recently I have been plagued by a leak that would show itself by a puddle on the kitchen floor. Slide in or slide out, parked or on the road, it didn’t matter it would leak if it rained. The bad part about this leak was that I couldn’t find where it was coming in. So yesterday with the help of a friend and a water hose we finally discovered the source of the leak. On the sidewall of M380’s there is a trim piece around the slide about ¾” wide and painted. It’s almost unnoticeable. At the top right corner of the slide, you could slide a piece of paper behind this trim piece. By opening the access panel above the kitchen / sofa, you could see the water coming in from behind this trim, running down near the slide seal and then out onto the kitchen floor. The seal itself was fine, no leak there but the trim piece was the culprit. It looked fine from the outside, you couldn’t see any crack but the water would run right in. The M380’s sidewalls were put together using structural tape and adhesive. So I’m guessing this trim just didn’t get fully glued. I used some Permatex windshield leak silicone sealer to fix it. That stuff is great, it’s thin enough to flow into the smallest of cracks. I have read some threads about persistent leaks in M380 slide areas. Someone, I can’t remember who, solved the problem by always pulling the awning out over the slide while parked. I’m thinking this may be a common problem with M380’s? I hope this helps someone.
