Not sure about others, but I had to sign mine (so it has my name). It also has a number that is linked to my name in their database. Also have to supply photo ID when checking in to campgrounds. Don't want to loose it, but would not be much use to someone who found it.

Lightbulb Disability Also

I had an Access Pass but can't locate it now that I am looking for it . It is offered to those with a disability at any age. Not a bad deal if you can find it

More info here: https://store.usgs.gov/access-pass

Got one a few weeks ago. They said they know nothing about price increasing, although they had heard about it from customers. Nothing coming thru their official channels though.

I paid $10. That is the price if buying direct in person. Ordering adds another $10 for processing and handling. Maybe that is where the "price increase to $20" comes from?

The $20 ones are only good for a year, that is, after the price increase goes into effect. And no one mentioned, but you have to be a US citizen to purchase one! Although they do not ask for a passport or other proof of citizenship, just a US driver license.
I did a stint as a volunteer visitor center host at Big Bend last year, and that was their policy.

I just ordered one from their website. I submitted a scan of the ID page of my passport as validation. Thanks for the heads up. You will have to create an account on the site to order the pass. Heads up; the password you create must be at least 12 characters in length.

From their site:
You can buy a Senior Pass in person from a participating Federal recreation site or office. See Site Locations that issue the Senior Pass.
You can buy a Senior Pass via mail order from USGS. Mail-order applicants must submit a completed application, proof of residency and age, the $20.00 ($10.00 fee for the Senior Pass, and an additional document processing fee ($10) to obtain a pass through the mail. Once the application package is received the documentation will be verified and a pass, with the pass owner's name pre-printed on it, will be issued to the applicant.
What is the Senior Pass?
A $10.00 lifetime pass that provides access to more than 2,000 recreation sites managed by five Federal agencies, with up to 100% of the proceeds being used to improve and enhance visitor recreation services.
Who is admitted with a Senior Pass?
The Senior Pass admits pass owner/s and passengers in a non-commercial vehicle at per-vehicle fee areas and pass owner + 3 adults, not to exceed 4 adults, where per-person fees are charged. (Children under 16 are always admitted free.)
Note: Photo identification will be requested to verify pass ownership.
