I don't care what people say about you Randy, you are indeed a good person...
All kidding aside, I believe that what you do for your furry kids, comes back many times.
Congrats on the new addition to the family.

There are few things more satisfying than adopting a dog that needs a home. After purchasing two purebred Labs when we were first married we have adopted 4 shelter dogs since then (the herd currently stands at two).

Our shelters are full of great dogs that need good homes. The only thing better than having a dog is knowing that you saved it.

Randy,

Great looking dog and a good deed by you & Carol. We have two shelter dogs. They seem to sense they were rescued have really bonded well. Only way to go in MHO.

Both Jet and Sadie were rescue dogs.
We get our dogs at the shelter too.
They make the best pets!

My Black Lab rescued me. I wouldn't take anything for him. He's by my side all the time. My best friend.

Shelters always need good folks to adopt their animals:

Wilhelmina came from the shelter in Mena, AR, three and a half years ago.

Is this turning into a "dog photo thread"? Good:

Afternoon nap on the FC after a fun morning.

Never understood people shopping for a dog from a breeder. The good ones are the ones who choose you, and John is correct that an older dog will profit from a younger pup around. My Sissy lived to be 17, probably for no other reason than to keep Elvis in line as long as she was able.
