If you want a 3060 go to Colaws, get one out of a motorhome and get the harness and computer and touch pad.
A schoolie 3060 may only have 4 speeds,or speeds, you have to reprogram the computer which is very hard to get done.
Allison does not want to do it.

I did some looking last night and found a half-dozen companies that makes stand-alone controllers for the 3060, as well as a few guys who do internet-based tuning. Most of them seem to be focused on the Duramax and Ford applications, but I'm waiting to hear back if any of them have done them in a motorhome and with a DT466

Last two packages we came across were from schoolies, 5 sp 'puters. Had to rely on my 'pals' @ local Allison shop to burn the ecu for 6 sp. Only problem is speedo output is strange, after much drama and grief went with a gps speedo.
Regarding the 3060, only the short bell/short trans will fit a FC, unless you put the drive train waaaaay out there.

Mikes comment on the length of the 3060 is right on.
Some of them have an extended bell housing to accept a PTO.
Some don't and some have a retarder,i have never seen one with the retarder so its longer too,i bet.

Don't suppose they'd burn a copy if an ECU was sent up? If so, idea on cost? And would you happen to have the length of the short bell / short trans? would hate to buy one that is too long.

There’s a good pic of the trans showing scale next to a 22.5. Not a compact unit for sure.

Also, someone buy this.

Ir has been proven that the difference between driving at say 65 mph and 75 does not take you 10 miles further every hour. Lots of factors will eat up the distance. You have to accelerate from a slow speed when you hit the higheway. Same when you stop to eat or use the bathroom. Slow down to pay tolls. 30 mph when you hit towns. Stop for heavy traffic or accidents. Slow down for some guy doing 45 mph. Truckers that get 10 mpg drive at 55 and maybe lose one hour in a 10 to 11 hour day. This is not the cannonball run.
