Default 6V92 turbo intake coupler / throttle cable interference

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the flock here - I just bought a 1983 PT-35. While driving it home (1400 miles) I noticed that it has next to no throttle response from the pedal in the cabin, but when you run it back on the engine directly it's nice and peppy. Testing with the system aired up, engine off, shows that it doesn't usually get to full throttle, either.

Some investigation show that the throttle cable (that comes from the Bendix cc-5 cylinder on the cruise control) is seriously rubbing on the coupler that connects the turbo inlet to the large tee that is used for the air compressor's inlet. I have no idea if what I'm looking at is standard fare for a 6V92 or what was changed, but obviously it didn't leave the factory this way. I've attached a couple photos of what I have. I might pop that coupler off the turbo and see how much room it's actually taking up. I can't find any photos of this area online anywhere to compare to.

What is supposed to be here? I think a new coupler might not result in enough clearance?

Here's mine taken while replacing fuel tubes. Looks like it is factory.
Is it the cable or the cable casing that is against the intake on the Turbo??
Can't tell with the accordion cover.

Wow, it looks exactly like mine. Same parts, same rubbing. If you draw a straight line to estimate where the cable is inside that accordion it looks to me like it's rubbing where it goes under the inlet. Thanks for posting that.
