Yes I believe you are correct John.. I think they are using them for the fast idle so the throttle pedal does not work when you have the fast idle on.. yea being a 93 it’s probably DDEC controlled throttle.

Well it’s a pressure protection valve, I believe for the aux tank. It’s on the drivers side not the passenger like I had originally thought.

What happens is the gauge will show 120, then the low air light comes on with the buzzer, then the gauge pressures drop to about 90 and then the compressor kicks on and cuts back off at 120…. Then repeat…

I think that valve leaking is causing the aux tank to get low, then the air system has to play catch up, using the brake tanks to fill the aux tank.. or something like that

Just replaced that valve on my grandparents 94WB, I followed the line along and it is the PPV for the retarder cylinder on the HT755.
It looks like yours is upside down from how they want those plumbed, you may want to flip it so the bump of the PPV faces down.

I also wanted to add while the leaking valve was out I put a gauge on it and put shop air into it, there was no regulation happening at all- full shop pressure on the outlet. I think I will be replacing all of the valves I can get to on both of our birds, who knows how many components are running at too high of pressure.....

Does anyone have an air plumbing schematic for a 94ish WB? I have one for my SP, but didn't know if anyone has one for the WB. I looked in the downloads directory and came up short.

Do you think that utilizes the “aux air tank” to make this work?? I thought I had it licked but took a trip last weekend…. Same thing happened just a lot less often

Mike, Dennis has a full schematic of the air system on his '93. Maybe you guys can get together on that issue.

Dennis, I am not much help in this area. I changed the PPV at the rear of the bus where the schrader valve is located. Michele kept telling me she could hear a hiss between the driver's side tag and drive axel, but I couldn't hear a thing and honestly never got under it to look. Everything always worked, but the auxiliary air always went down pretty quick, compared to the suspension. But the auxiliary air was never an issue and only needed it to dump, but used the pry bar to get past that.

I had that ppv valve changed and took a shakedown trip last weekend and sometimes the low air light and buzzer would sound however it had like 90+ on the gauge…. That’s why I was thinking it was aux related…. I used the aux compressor to dump
