smokstak has been good with lots of INFO.
I moved the clear filter to see that the fuel pump is keeping it full, it is!
The carb main jet on the bowl is set using the air/fuel meter, set for best running and it does not have to turn much to get it right.
If I can not get it to run right, I will remove it after "Q". I am just going in circles right now!

On my 78 6.5k with the engine off, the hole the rod is hooked to is at the top,
also, when I thought I was having carb issures turned out the points were bad,
once I replaced and set them, its running fine

Thank you! I will move the rod when I have time. I replaced the points and more last year.

With help @ "Q" from Kevin we got it running. The choke rod goes to the bottom hole on this Gen. The GOV rod I made too lone (made it shorter @ "Q") then it was Kevin to help me with setting the carb up, the stop was out of adjustment, then set the gov rod length, and set the air / fuel. Next: I need to move the fan temp switch and change the oil to see if it shuts down after 2 Hrs. of run time.

I still have the problem of turning off when hot. I removed the lo oil pressure switch wire, still turns off?
What will turn off the GEN when at temp?
I am going to look at the choke. When cold 12V pulls on the choke, when hot the bi spring pulls it off, I think it then shuts off the engine?
Any help???

I talked to the teck @ Edelbrock and he said the pump must push fuel to the carb. mounted ay the bottom of the tank.
I started the GEN and 1 A/C, it ran for some time and the filter was full. Soon I see air bubbles in the filter & the engine sputters, then the fuel runs out (filter runs empty) and the engine dies. I can not find an ONAN fuel pump so I need to mount the new pump @ the fuel tank and run new gas lines (old ones are inside the frame and blocked by the 150 GAL fuel tank). Would you use braded hose and what size? (old one is copper). Any other help???

I would recommend selling the Edelbrock pump on eBay before it dies on you, and it is way too much pump for your Onan. I use an electric pump like this one on a few Onan projects over the years. I have put thousands of miles on a CCKB with one, too. Quiet and reliable and you can keep a spare if you want.

Fuel pump

thank you!!
All this time no one else had come up with a replacement fuel pump. I will get one right away! A lot better then mounting one at the tank.

No problem. You do want to mount it as low as possible, so keep that in mind. Any pump will appreciate that.
