Default Dually tag?

A question came up on another forum about whether 'Birds had dually tags. I'm no expert, but the few 'Birds with tags that I've seen are all single wheels. I realize that a specialty coach might have been built that way, but were there any regular coaches made that way?

Some might think they are duel because of the way they are turned.

Thanks, Rick. I would think that you'd have to have an awfully tail-heavy coach to come close to needing a dual tag.

MCI had a coach with a dually tag axle.
They called it a "combo".
They used it to haul freight and people.

I saw a twin screw bus at Peninsular Glass at Vancouver WA getting new windows. It was an old converted Trailways bus (very nice conversion). The owner said that about 100 (maybe the right number) were produced for Trailways so they could haul more freight.

That was probably the Scenicruiser, PD 4501 If so, around 1954, originally built with 2 engines, that right, two, 471 DD.

I can't remember what the model was called, but the LXi in a crystal lighted block that was given out by Blue Bird shows it with a dually tag.

John,

Right you are. My acrylic (or whatever it is) lighted BB that was given at one of the last RITV's is a M-450 and as you pointed out has (incorrectly) dual tags. Funny, I never noticed it before. Mine is in my office at work and has received a lot of comments/questions. Kind of funny while on the subject, my office at work is decorated Wanderlodge. I have 3 of the factory matted and framed Wanderlodge prints on the wall that i got from Slim decorating my office along with pictures of our bird and various WL items. Whats really funny is first time visitors see the large prints on the wall of interior and exterior shots of LXI's and automatically assume thats what I have. I have to convince them that no, I don't make that kind of money working at Emory and mine really is a 1980..
