Just had a local guy around here make it Woody, he does car and boat interiors and boat tops mostly. I had to leave the coach with him for a weekend for him to sew it and install it, fits like a glove and cost about $600 installed

Hi Jim! Katie and I have been thinking of a similar thing. We love our 03 LXI, but I miss my BMC and having a shorter bus, so we're thinking of changing to an M380. Are you loving your M380??

We love our M 380!!! yes, there are a couple of things we miss about the "classic" look of the 89 SP.....a clock over our head when in bed, fixed by obtaing one from a "part-out", mid entry, (won't fix that:-)) we like the white/cream color inside vs the wood on all the cabinets....now, some of the things we like about the M 380, drives like a sports car...well not like Rob Robinson's Porsche....:-) turning radius is SO much better, slide is stellar! So much more storage, although configured differently! We are surprised by how much we like the push button awning!! I personally like the privacy of the door to the potty. Seperate closets. Now, all that being said, I will always like the "one" I have!! While on our "open house" tour at WOG I saw some beauties!!! Came back to my abode and stated, "i love my coach!!" Why make yourself unhappy??...:-)

Bryan, haven't had the opportunity to put many miles on the M380 yet, but I do like what I know so far. I have not driven an Lxi before but assuming that it drives similar to my LX, I think that you will enjoy the way the M380 drives.
The M380 is a little different from the LX with regards to systems etc., but am getting them figured out. I spent a few minutes with Jim Brookshire at the WOG rally and he showed me a few things that will help me immensely.
Good luck in your search

Well the 2001 LX is sold and delivered to a gentleman in Destin FL. He is not on the WOG right now but I told him about it so hopefully he will get with us soon. He already has a 1992 PT40 so is now a member of the 2 Bird club!
A million thanks to Randy for helping get the deal done, WOG and Randy rocks

We love our M380, finest coach we have ever owned. According to Johnny Anderson, there were 87 M380's built. They started in late 2002, finished in 2004. 2 were stainless steel, with weight issues. They were all 'badged' as they were sold in later years. At that time he said he thought there were still 86 on the road plus one burn out, salvage. Congrats on your new to you bird and thanks to Randy for this forum and the knowledge we share to keep them on the road.

Not saying that he was wrong Doc, but Bill Coleman told me that mine physically came off the line in May 2006, who knows?

I have generally heard 80-something built, perhaps prior quotes of Johnny, but one hard number can be found in this recall: http://www.arfc.org/rvs/blue_bird/wa...05/recall.aspx

It says 156 affected Manufactured between 9/25/2002 - 7/9/2004. Since the recall date was 8/11/2004 it doesn't speak to the issue of whether there were more built later.

We also, I think, have heard of around 5 totaled by fires and that's just what we know about. At least one of those is back on the road, though.
