Default My first time in a 450!!

OK,get your minds out of the gutter!!

Yesterday i had the chance to take a 450 on a long drive in the mountains,on 2 lanes and 4 lanes.

All of the stories i have heard are true, the 450s drive like a dream, they really are a pleasure to drive!
The first thing i noticed is theres a little bit of more steering input required, maybe its the 365 tires?
Maybe its the smaller steering wheel?
Maybe its simply the nature of the coach?

It just seemed like a little more input was required than my LXI,but, its a small thing,i noticed it because i jumped out of an LXI into a 450,i think its the smaller wheel myself.

Second thing i noticed was the smooth ride,it really is smooth and it seemed to be very quiet too.
But,we did not have the genny running or any AC uints on,or the TV with the Olympics!

In my coach we had the genny running and all 3 ACs on,plus Carol being a sports fan has the TV blasting!

I think my LXI has a better turning radius,i may have a shorter wheelbase plus i have a steering axle, but the 450 was not an issue and we were in some small towns and went around several tight corners with no issues and no tires curbed,so it does pretty darn good i tight spots.
I found all controls easy to use,the larger switchs on the dash are great for those guys with big hands and fingers.

The coach takes off like a rabbit (not a VW rabbit!)and pulled the hills nicely,i think it will outrun my LXI off the line, but i think i can outrun the 450 from 40mph and up....maybe...

I can also see how easy ot would be to get a speeding ticket in this coach,it cruises along with ease at 60mph and you feel like your only doing 40..
60 was my max speed, since we were in speed zones etc.

I was very impressed overall, nice ride!!!!

Sounds like a great run Randy! I got to ride in a 450 back in January. Jim Nichol's was behind the wheel, I was in the step well as he pulled it up about 18" at the Clearwater Wanderlodge rally Not nearly as fun as your trip! Was Carol along too? Impressions??

Carol was along too,she thought it rode well and was quiet, there was 3 of us in the coach,Carol was on the couch, which is not a good place to be in a slide out coach, the wall behind the driver keeps you from being part of the conversation and you can't see much either.

When it gets hot and air conditioning is required, press the button marked a/c fan on each side of the front slides. This operates the fans in the slide ceiling to deliver air from the a/cs
